Hello, I am Laura Hodges! I just completed my first year at USC, where I am studying Occupational Therapy & Science. I am originally from Salinas, California, and I enjoy reading, art, cooking, and baking, all of which allow me to express creativity and connect with others. My passion for helping people is one of the reasons I chose to pursue Occupational Therapy.
Reading has always been meaningful to me because it offers new perspectives and allows me to better understand people and their experiences. I especially enjoy nonfiction, drama, and mystery books.
This bookpacking trip to New Orleans is especially exciting because I have always wanted to visit the city. My love for jazz music, stories from family members who have visited, and New Orleans’ rich culture and history made it the perfect place to explore literature through travel. (And of course the food!) Through this experience, I plan to connect the books I read with the places, history, and culture that bring them to life.
